Creating systems
I was reading Dan Marques blog Startup Guide and he had a great post about creating systems to get common tasks done more efficiently.
It really peaked my interest because I’ve been meaning to develop a system for content sites for a little while now. I think the best option for me is going to be creating a standard, easy to edit template that I can integrate into WordPress. Once I get it integrated into WordPress I will be able to launch content sites in about an hour!
If you haven’t looked at using WordPress for content management you really should. There are tons of great articles on it. In my opinion, WordPress is the best blogging platform out there, and the fact that I can manage my content in a familiar interface makes it very powerful. The real power of WordPress and content sites will be the ease of adding new articles. All I have to do is make a “Post” in WordPress and suddenly I have a new article, I could easily add one a week, and depending on the site I could add one a day!
Why is that important? Because Google loves new content. If you are continually adding new pages it will help your PR because Google realizes that your site isn’t dormant and the information is up to date.
I will start working on a template in the next few days and put it up here for anyone to use and hopefully I can get a post done that provies some instructions on integrating it to WordPress and changing the look a little bit. But don’t hold me to that - I have lots to do in the next few weeks.
