How to plan blog entries for the rest of the year
No more beating around the bush. I have to say it’s hard to maintain a blog, especially so if you’re busy, or everything in your mind’s mixed up.
Sometimes, even if you’re craving for the keyboard to ‘write’ about something, you just can’t. It is either you don’t have the time, or you just don’t know what to write about it.
Here’s how to get through the hassle and make sound entries for the rest of the year.
List all possible topics. This is particularly true if you have a one-line blog, a business blog, for example, wherein readers expect all your entries to be all about biz. Before the year kicks off, think of possible business dimensions you can tackle, and narrow them down to specifics. If possible, make a database of 365 topics for future writing.
Take note of important dates. Try to make a record of the days when dollar reaches its lowest or highest, or when a new business law takes effect. These events can be special topics for your entries. What is their significance to your business? to other businesses? Do they have any significance at all? You can answer these questions in your subsequent entries.
Set a fixed time to write. To me, it’s most convenient to write at night, when I’m totally free of work. Blogging is best when you’re mind is free, so you might as well do it at night – either after dinner or before going to sleep.
Make entries conversational. They say the more conversational your posts are, the more likely they are read. When blogging, remember not to make your entries too rhetorical that they seem absurd to readers. Always choose the right words and be spontaneous.
Follow suggestions. Allow readers to contact you for feedbacks and suggestions. Most of the time, readers suggest smart topics that you can write about. If you think they’re appropriate, bite.
