Reaching Three Figure Adsense Revenue
Reaching $XXX in Adsense revenue per month is always a goal that I’ve been working for. Theres a special aura around being eligible to be paid by Google each month, and it is one of the milestones I’m sure many webmasters remember.

The reason I bring this up, if it wasn’t obvious enough already, is that I just finally hit three figures a month in Adsense revenue. So how did I do it? Well, a combination of two things allowed me to reach this revenue figure.
1. Long term content building
My Adsense revenue for one of my best sites has grown slowly every month since I have committed to increasing revenue. My Adsense revenue comes from a variety of sites, but is always lead by my oldest, most established blog. In theory, it’s really simple to increase revenue:
- Update content regularly
- Place Ads Well
- Wait
For this site, which happens to be a budget travel blog, I have been sure to post at least once a week (usually more) ever since it’s conception. Secondly, when I committed to increasing my Adsense revenue, I implemented a new, ad-friendlier design for the site. This both improved the site as a whole for being easier on the eyes, and revenue/CTR. I made sure to place ads high and as close to the content as possible, without being “in” the content. Then finally, just wait. Traffic should come if you do it well, and traffic is the most important part of Adsense. Waiting is both the easiest, and most frustrating parts of the process.
2. Get Lucky
For me personally, a little over half of my $XXX adsense revenue this month is a result of luck, not going to lie. But to give myself a little bit of credit, the luck is something that resulted from my hard work for long term content building (see #1).
Basically, on one of my other, less popular travel blogs, I wrote one post regarding shark attacks and the most dangerous Shark beaches. It’s a pretty decent post that is just a commentary / summarization of another major travel article I found online. Well, after a few months, the search engines began to like it….a lot.
MSN and Live Search began bringing in over 800 impressions a day, with some days over 2,000. Currently, in the past 30 days, I have had 25,000 visits and over 30,000 impressions. So as a result, I’m pulling in mid $X/day, while at one point raking in low $XX/day on this site alone…all because of one blog post… that really isn’t that well written.
So next up: $X,XXX Adsense revenue a month.

Congrats on the milestone. How long from your original launch did it take to reach that amount?
