Reader Profile: Running A Successful Online Business
I love getting emails from College Startup readers with success stories. Recently one such reader contacted me about a business he set up in Nevada in 2003 that now has over five employees (you know your business has made it when you can start hiring employees!). Like many businesses in the United States, his business was started to provide a service (America is a service economy, are we not).
John, the owner of IncParadise.com, originally set his business up to provide Nevada corporation services. But if you visit his website, you can see that IncParadise.com now offers incorporation in all 50 states. Having moved his business online allowed John to expand his target audience beyond Nevada (though Nevada is a very popular place to incorporate).
It makes me extremely happy to see success stories like John’s. At the end of the day a business will be successful if it properly identifies a need, fills that need well, and let’s people know that it can feed that need well. No one likes doing the paperwork involved in incorporating a business. John knew this. He also had experience with handling this process. So he set up a company, worked hard, and now has a thriving business. That business has become even more successful by creating a strong internet presence. That’s the key.
