College Startup Passes the 1000 Uniques Per Day Mark

As far as I know, this past week was the first week ever that College Startup nailed 1000 uniques per day, every day. When I first started at College Startup back in the early fall of 2006, it was averaging 250 uniques per day. So I’ve been pleasantly surprised to see it grow despite the fact that I’m only able to make one or two posts per week.

Now, I can’t with any integrity take most of the credit. Ben is really the guy who built the momentum and I’ve just been fortunate enough to continue in the wake of the path he started. Plus, it should be noted that since I’ve taken over, largely due to its age, the site has moved completely out of any Google sandbox it may have been in and now pwns Google.

Did you have any problems with Mosso this week? It seems to have affected many. With your traffic flow, you should have noticed some drop-off in traffic due to their glitches. Did it happen to you?

No, in fact, the past week was my highest traffic week ever across all the PopCrunch sites which are hosted on Mosso.

I’d be happy to give people logins to both Google Analytics and PopCrunch to view site traffic and to confirm that the site has not suffered a traffic issue.

Yesterday PopCrunch hit an all time high in AdSense revenue too, breaking the old record by more than $25 (we’re now consistently hitting 3 figures a day).

I’d be interested in see the google analy. I am making final decisions to see if I can be hosted at Mosso. Btw– congrats on your great news about breaking your own previous benchmarks. It should give lots of college grads or current students incentive to do their own web biz!
