Content websites: part 2
Well, the last post got me motivated to start working on some new content websites. I’ve worked on creating content websites before, but I have never really worked on marketing them so the end effect was maybe $0.10 a month for a few months and then a dead site. Not this time!
If you read Jonathan’s recent posts you’d notice that he created a site about sump pumps. His idea wasn’t unique – he got the idea from the Marketing Syndrome Blog. Hint: sign up for the newsletter to get access to the password protected posts, then you’ll see why it wasn’t so unique.
I decided to create my own website about sump pumps at SumpPumpSecrets.com. I created the design, content, and setup the hosting in about 2 hours. The site isn’t 100% done yet, but it should be about there by Wednesday or Thursday. After that I will work on creating a few backlinks and then hopefully I can watch some money come in.
Right now the site is monetized through Google AdSense. I am hoping to get approved by Chitika Minimalls soon so that I can integrate product links throughout the site. If that doesn’t work I’ll set up some links from my Amazon Associates account and hopefully make some sales.
For my first attempt at a full blown content site this is going pretty well. I am learning as I go, so this will be a trial and error website. I’ll take what I learn from SumpPumpSecrets.com and translate that into higher profits on my next content site. I’m hoping to have 15 content sites launched by February.

Awesome stuff Ben!
.. Looking forward to seeing how it goes!
