My first rip
Well I’m flattered that someone has stolen a design from me.
http://investorial.com/
Not a bad implementation, of course…the theme isn’t available for public distribution so he’s breaking some rules. I’m flattered, but I’ve sent him a nice email asking him to take it down and I’m sure he’ll be happy to do so. If not we’ll see what happens next.
Oh - and I wouldn’t be too upset, except for:
If you are a regular Investorial reader, you may already have notice the new layout design. I spent the whole day creating this design on my PC and finally felt it was ready to be ported to the site.
I think that’s pretty funny, it certainly shouldn’t take all day to copy/paste a stylesheet…
He also mentions how people with IE6 were having trouble and how this design addresses that issue, so while I didn’t do any browser tests, I think it was nice of him to do so for me. And sure using a stylesheet isn’t a big deal, but he also copied my graphics and the layout exactly. Not too cool.
THE LAST UPDATE:
Vince and I have come to an agreement and he will be allowed to use the theme I developed at his website. I will not discuss the details, but I think it’s fair and we’re both happy with it. While I think it was wrong to steal my design, once I contacted Vince he was very quick to email me back and try to come up with a deal that would make us both happy.
Hopefully this is the last time I’ll have to deal with something like this.

Who knows … maybe he just had all the same inspirations. Though if I remember correctly it took you a few days to work all of that out, code it, and implement it onto the web, so I guess he’s better at it than you?
Haha, what a chump.
