My summer plans
I wrote a post a few weeks ago about what I did last summer called Looking for a summer job? Don’t. I’ve decided to add to that with some information on my plans this summer.
Once again I’ll be working on my own projects - no “official” job, although there are people around Cincinnati who I might be working with, which is exciting. Fortunately I have enough money in the bank and I make enough money through blog design, AdSense, and affiliate programs, so I won’t need a “real” job. I hate those anyway.
First off, I’m going to work very hard at increasing my earnings from online ventures. I think that by the time I graduate college I should be making well over $100 a day from the internet. If that’s the case, I’ll be able to take my time and figure out what it is I want to do. Whether I want to work at a startup, get an MBA, go to law school or do whatever, I’ll have time to figure it out.
Second, I’m going to start developing those projects that will help increase my monthly earnings. I’m working with David and Chris on Problogging.com, which is currently offering design and hosting services. Eventually we’ll be releasing a web application or two and some other exciting projects that should make the lives of bloggers easier. I also have my own ideas for a web application or two or three or ten. I am not sure which one I want to focus on, but this summer I’ll definitely start working on one.
I also have quite a few big purchases that I’d like to make this summer. A new car, a new computer (MacBook Pro), a 23” Apple Cinema Display, and whatever else pops into my head. We’ll see how that goes.
I’ll update on the progress of all this throughout the summer. I have a feeling it will be a lot of work and a lot of fun.
