Again, not all deals are made with cash
In a previous post, I talked about how I work at the school library to get a 75% discount on tuition fees. In exchange for that discount, I need to work 75 hours this semester. It’s been really hard because I’ve been balancing my web work, studies, and library work (okay, and watching Star Trek: The Original Series on DVD). It’s especially exhausting since I’m drowning in exams and paintings that I need to complete before October starts.
Anyway, I still owe the library 11 hours of work. I’d rather spend the rest of September on school work and my online businesses. So I made a deal with the librarian.
She badly wanted speakers for the school computer. I said I’d donate my speakers. Guess what? She said yesterday was my last day of working there.
I don’t need to devote another 11 hours stacking books, typing call numbers, and stamping library cards.
Funny thing is, those 5-year-old speakers cost me less than $3.00 originally. That’s the cheapest 11 hours I ever bought myself.
