Tweak Your Online Business
Perhaps one of the best media to use for your business is the Internet. No doubt a lot of the business ideas you hear about these days are online businesses. This is not a surprise as more and more people are turning to this mode of business operation. Yet there are still many people with great online business ideas who are not maximizing their profits. The reasons behind this may vary but the point is that there are certain things you can do to increase your profits from your online business. Here are a few tips which you can try out.
1. Sign up for a 1-800 number.
Online businesses, especially those that sell products (which is in fact the most common form we see these days), need a way for customers to contact them quickly. Sure, there is e-mail but admit it, most people would still want a phone number they can reach and get instant feedback. More so, with an online business, your clients are not limited to your locality. You can have clients from all the 51 states and long distance phone calls are definitely a hassle for the. Thus a 1-800 number would benefit you greatly. Of course, before you can do this, it would be a good idea to have a VOIP phone installed already. To have a 1-800 assigned to you, you would need only about $5 a month. Not a bad deal, especially if you think about the amount of income that would add to your already existing one.
2. Don’t rely on manufacturer’s pictures and descriptions.
The best selling point for any product would be the fact that you know and believe in what you are selling. What you can do to convince people to buy your products even more is to add a personal touch to your catalogue. Of course, you probably haven’t – and cannot – try all the items that you are selling on your site. The most economical and yet effective way to do this would be to choose the most popular products in your catalogue. Get them for yourself and then take your own pictures and write your own descriptions. That way, the selling spiel would be from an actual user. Nothing beats a realistic advertisement.
3. Include forms in your site.
When I say forms, I mean a page that allows customers to interact with you without them having to log on to their e-mail account and then sending you an e-mail. Contact forms could be used for specifics purposes such as asking questions and sending in their information. This is more convenient for the prospective customer and will definitely add to your client base.
These are just a few minor things which you can use to tweak your overall service. They won’t take up much of your time and neither will they cost you a lot of money. There are still more things you can do to improve your online business and we’ll continue in the next post.
