Five time-wasters for the college entrepreneur
Business people already have little time to waste. So how much less does a student entrepreneur got to waste with the academic load he or she has? Very little. But they still waste a chunk of their time to not so important things. Students sometimes forget not just time but also everything that they are supposed to do with it. Here are the top five.
1. Hanging out with friends.
Students just can’t help doing this. Well, almost every college student wants to have – and needs! – some fun and social life. But there are many who lose track of time and forget or put off what they have a lot to do. They spend time chatting with friends on the phone for hours, or hanging out at clubs, or sleeping over at a friend’s house, and the like.
2. Laziness and/or Recreation
Sometimes students just spend time doing literally nothing. Laziness also includes ignoring, or worse banging, the ringing alarm clock just to sleep for “five more minutes.”
Others spend too much time on other leisure activities, telling themselves that they are not in the mood to do their tasks and simply need to take a break.
3. Meeting up with people who come late
This is what business people, especially those in the professional field, really hate. Latecomers delay business, or academic work for that matter. Unless you have your assignment or work with you, you have no choice but to find the best, most productive way to spend your waiting time.
4. Traffic
Almost everybody in the metropolis wastes precious time here. But those who are resourceful and smart can make a way to use their time while being sandwiched in the traffic. A student entrepreneur has to hone his personal “traffic management” skills such as writing in a dim lighted cab, mentally answering your homework in a jam-packed bus, or typing on your laptop while being equally attentive to the traffic lights.
5. Lack of planning
Having no list of activities or assignments makes you more prone to forgetting the tasks you need to do. Forgetting to do such things means you let precious time pass by without doing what you need to do. Forgetting also makes you spend time wracking your brains to recall what you have to do.
