New Year’s Resolutions for the College Entrepreneur
Another year just kicked off and it’s time again for New Year’s resolutions.
With regards to your business undertaking, it’s high time to think back and determine where in the past year did you do wrong and find ways to correct them. When doing so, however, remember to zero in on what’s doable at the moment.
Here are examples of practical New Year’s resolutions.
1. Balance school and work life. If you gave a little or no attention to your business because you focused more on academics, spark a balance between the two this year. Plan ahead and see to it that nothing is compromised.
2. Cut back on unnecessary expenses. Start dropping those pennies in coin banks to avoid splurging and wasting them on pointless things. Do what you can to save and always spend money wisely.
3. Invest a portion of your profits for new equipment. If you earned more than enough, it’s an intelligent decision to do so. This isn’t just to increase assets but also to lessen your expenditures on the long term, especially if you’re leasing equipment.
4. Read at least one business book in two months. Continue enriching your knowledge of entrepreneurship though reading. It doesn’t only make you smarter; it gives satisfaction too.
5. Create a website for your biz. The internet offers free and low-cost advertising privileges. Promote your business and widen customer or sponsor base by creating a website. It doesn’t have to appear like a pro; just make it simple, catchy and credible.
6. Be friendlier to clients from hell, even if it gets on your nerves. Part of your growing as a student entrepreneur is learning how to deal with people. If they are difficult, learn how to handle them.
Though many say New Year’s resolutions are often tossed to the wind, it’s always okay to inject some sort of healthy pressure in what seems to be a so-so year.
