Why am I not making sales?
It could really be frustrating to ask oneself this question and not get an answer back and be more perplexed than ever. So let us tackle some of the possible answers to this problem many entrepreneurs out there are probably struggling out of right now.
We’ll throw the possible answers into three categories: products or service, customer service, and marketing.
Products or services
For the nth time, take a good look at your products or services. Making no sales probably means they’re not that good looking or not that needed by the market or lousy-looking or horribly priced, or worst, all of the above.
Don’t ever settle selling products and services that are “nice” or “good” or “all right”. Your products should be irresistibly attractive. An attractive product or service is something a consumer would want and would buy because it looks good, it’s what he needs, and has quality. Now, what makes it irresistible is a price that makes a customer smile back at it.
Marketing
Suppose you already have an irresistibly attractive product. Check out your marketing strategies.
You probably are not educating your prospects about your products; you’re not giving enough details and information on your services on your advertisements. Information would appeal to the most informed or educated people whose referrals would definitely do your business good.
But it can also be that you’re educating the wrong market. So specify your market. It’s of utmost importance. Don’t try to target just anybody or everyone. Pegging on a mental image of your customer would direct your efforts to knowing and attracting your market.
Also included in marketing is the design of what you sell and wherever you sell it. You really won’t sell anything if your products are drab and suspiciously-looking without any information about its contents, its maker and the maker’s contact information, and other quality guaranties. An attractive but credible packaging is what first connects your product to your prospect. Design is also everything in your storefront, as one business blogger said.
Customer service
How are you on this category? Do you have cranky sales employees? Or perhaps you don’t offer product warranties? Or maybe you don’t have fast delivery of products or services. Improve your customer relations. Because, you better believe it, there are consumers who would stick to you despite your lousy services just because you warmly smile at them whenever they step into your store.
