The Business of SERPS
When you’ve got too much going on, you tend to neglect important things.
I’ve been neglecting important things.
That doesn’t mean I haven’t been successful. It just means that it’s time to clean up some of the backlog and get my house in order.
For the past 9 months or so I’ve been satisfied with the longtail and neglecting the 2 word keyphrases.
How else could you explain the fact that two days ago my massively successful Hip-Hop blog was showing up on page 27 of the Google SERPS for a search on “hip hop”?
That pissed me off.
So now I’m dedicated to conquering some high-value two word keyphrases. I want to know what the business value is. What should I invest in time and money to getting on the front page?
I’m running some experiments for the next two months to conquer some kick-ass SERP results.
It would be stupid for me to talk about all of them. But I’ll let you follow me as I aim to conquer the Urban music phrase hip hop. And it’ll be an honor when I do…cuz I honestly think it’s one of the most rich terms in the English language.
