How To Get Startup Funding For Your Small Business
Rather than write up a guide for raising funding for your startup company, I figured I’d just collect a bunch of the best resources I found on the net simply by searching. While I’m always an advocate of bootstrapping and applying the force of necessity to an early company, there is no doubt that you will always need some funds to get started and get some momentum.
I’m not a big fan of angel investors or VC mainly because it creates the illusion that you have money that you don’t have. People with access to such money typically burn through it without paying attention to what really matters. With limited, but sufficient funds, you are more likely to get the fundamentals right…or at least not waste too much money in the process of getting the fundamentals wrong.
So despite my philosophy on keeping tight, here are three of the best articles I’ve found online with some of the most useful ideas you’ll ever need for raising funding for your startup:
1. An Introductory Guide to Startup Funding
I love this article because it not only gives you tips for finding startup funding but it also gives you tips on what the right attitude is for running a startup business – not only do you need to find funds, but you need to find a way to keep them.
2. 33 Ways To Fund Your Startup Business
If you ever needed to get creative about startup funding, this is the article to get your mind moving in lots of different directions. It’s like caffeine for the startup brainstormer.
This article covers the seven most common sources of startup funds. The nice thing about it is that it goes into the advantages and disadvantages of each source.
